The work of subtitling was confined only to art films or films which are to be sent for awards. But nowadays any film with a good budget is being sub titled. With the help of subtitling the film gets a market throughout the country. Those days selected tamil films would be screened only in some specific theatres in north india but now with the increase in multiplexes throughout the country the demand is on the high. The only request from the chain of theatres is that they would require a sub titled version of the film.
