Armed with shovels and 100 saplings, Vikram and his fans waded into the task of giving a dash of green look at the huge YMCA facility at Kottivakkam on Old Mahabalipuram Road where the place was devoid of greenery..
The actor made this initiative on Earth Day (April 22).
Vikram was quoted saying” To create an awareness on the importance of trees this Earth Day, the theme of which this year is a Billion Acts of Green, we have planted a 100 saplings at the YMCA grounds. That is just a small move. I appeal to anybody who gets this message to plant a sapling.”
The actor who termed this initiative as “Patchai Puratchi” (Green Revolution) is hoping that many people will come forward and support this cause..
