Sridevi in Kamal’s Viswaroopam?
Dabaang beauty Sonakshi Sinha will be paired with our Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan in this film.. And looks like the queen bee of South Indian cinema and a great performer actress Sridevi will also be a part of this project, though nothing has been confirmed..
The dazzling pair Sridevi and Kamal Haasan has paired in many blockbusters in the late ’70s and ’80s and has given us some great films.. And definitely it would be great to see this pair back on screen..
Talks are going on with the actress and, if all go well, then audiences are in for a treat with the glam diva sizzling once again on screen.

Mankatha team shifts its base
The major portions of the film have been shot in Mumbai, with important chunks were shot in Hyderabad as well.
Sources say, the director of the film had planned to shoot Mankatha’s climax in Madurai and the producers were making arrangements to present the climax in a lavish way.
But recently, the Mankatha team shifted base to Chennai for the climax sequence.
Sources from the industry say that since most of the film was shot in Mumbai, Chennai would match the background. After the climax the crew will fly to Hyderabad to can the remaining scenes in the film.
Maddy has a blast on the sets of Vettai
The actor who is also soaking in the success of his Bollywood hit film Tanu weds Manu,recently completed a schedule for the film in Karaikudi with Arya and Sameera Reddy, and he had an outstanding time.
The actor was quoted saying “Arya and I look like brothers which is what we are supposed to be in the film. The entire unit is a group of youngsters, right from our cameraman to our director..We had a blast for 15 days” ..
He choose his projects, be it Hindi or Tamil, solo hero movies in Tamil are not on his agenda for 2011. Maddy says his current focus is solely Vettai now..
Velayudham getting ready for release
The mass entertainer, which stars Vijay, Hansika and Genelia in lead, is the most expected film in K’town and buzz is that the songs and action sequences have turned out astonishingly well..
Saranya Mohan appears in a bubbly role as Vijay’s sister. While Genelia will be seen as an investigative journalist and Hansika will portray a village belle in the film.
Sources say, the makers of the film are making every effort to release this film on actor Vijay's birthday, which falls on June 22..
Meanwhile, Vijay has flown to the Andamans for his upcoming flick Nanban.

VAANAM MOVIE REVIEW
Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja

Prolific Telugu director Krish comes to Tamil bringing with him his critically acclaimed Vedam as Vaanam with an ensemble cast of STR (Silambarasan), Bharath, Anushka, Vega, Saranya, Prakash Raj and others. Vedam had given Krish an admirable name to reckon with in the Telugu industry and for his debut in Tamil, the director has chosen the same premise which explored the various layers of human emotions, adhering largely to the original.
Vaanam follows a multi narrative format, which is fairly new to Tamil cinema. The product is about how the lives of five completely unrelated individuals from different places converge at one point cascading in a transformation of their persona and the ensuing corollary. The refreshing factor about Vaanam is it has eschewed the standard DNA of commercial flicks and Krish’s authority on the narrative comes to the fore with this delectably mounted product that tugs at your heart strings.
The characters in Vaanam are very ordinary, relatable mortals with their respective grey shades. Krish has not attempted to aggrandize them and they stand before you immaculately unornamented with their blemishes. STR as cable Raju, Bharath the rock star, Anushka the commercial sex worker, Saranya the helpless mom of an abducted son and Prakash Raj on the look out for his lost brother are the axles around which Vaanam hinges.
The screenplay is intelligently woven around these characters and Krish builds his narration in a neat pattern not losing steam or our attention anywhere. Although dialogues by Giri provide a significant value, it dazzles when Anushka insulted by policeman Radha Ravi says “we sell our souls unrobed but you guys do that with all your robes on” (naanga thuni avuthu velai porom, neenga thuniyoda velai poreenga) or when she jocularly says that while for other jobs, experience is a big plus but in flesh trade, it is just the reverse. Giri’s caliber as an effective dialogue writer is revealed when STR in a choked voice states that truth needs courage and lies do not. And mind you, Vaanam is replete with such gems.
All the artists have performed well and have equal screen presence. But the finest moments, of course, belong primarily to STR who reiterates that at the hands of a good script and a director, he can walk away with all the acting honors. The testimony to this is the scene when he snatches the money bag from Saranya and the vicissitude of emotions that play on his face that toggles between greed and conscience. And the scene at the police station when Anushka wonders if his love was true, the profound expression on his face is noteworthy.
Anushka, the foul mouthed sex worker oozing oodles of oomph meets the sensual demands of her character but sans vulgarity brings tears while pleading to the doctor to save her friend saying that she is ready to sleep with him innumerable times. Bharath delivers a subdued performance and Prakash Raj is his usual best. While Vega, Soniya and Jasmine are adequate, Saranya, Santhanam and VTV Ganesh have delivered a natural and neat portrayal. The scenes with VTV Ganesh are enjoyable and when he talks about standing in front of director Shankar’s house with Rahman as company is hilarious. Santhanam as STR’s friend is his perfect humorous foil. Anushka’s transgender friend Karpuram and Saranya’s father-in-law are impressive.
Under Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music, the opening song ‘Who am I’ showcases Bharath’s dancing skills which is youthful and peppy. The latest youth anthem ‘Evandi Onna Pethan’ is well picturized and STR’s adeptness with his feet and Nirav Shah’s brilliant camera work in the number are noticeable. Although ‘No money no honey’ is enjoyable, it does not add value to the film’s progress in any way.
Nirav Shah’s cinematography is appreciable and the angles and lighting sensibilities up the production value of the film. The different type of lighting at the lodge is just an example. With his tight frame composition, Editor Anthony is impressive.
Even though Vaanam is alluring in most aspects and travels linearly on the attempted track, the cinematic feel of the climax is a placid wart. The track ‘No money no honey’ is apparently forced and brings down the tempo of the film.
Director Krish makes his impactful debut with a different narrative format that holds the attention of the audience. Vaanam is succulent with diverse complex human emotions from deceit to greed to rage to remorse. The film has a plot that can find patrons among wider variety of audience as the theme of humanity is much a catholic one that transcends barriers.

இப்படியெல்லாம் கதை சொல்கிற விஷயத்தில் கறார் காட்டிவரும் ஸ்ட்ரிக்ட் டைரக்டர், தனது அடுத்தப்பட நாயகியான தமன்னாவுக்கு சலுகை காட்டியிருக்கிறார். ஒரு மணி நேரம்... இரண்டு மணிநேரமல்ல... மூன் மணி நேரம் தமன்னாவுக்கு கதை சொல்லி திருப்தி படுத்தியிருக்கிறாராம். கறார் டைரக்டர் தமன்னாவுக்கு மட்டும் சலுகை காட்டியிருக்கும் செய்திதான் காட்டுத்தீ போல கோடம்பாக்கம் முழுக்க பற்றி எரிந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

Jasmin when asked how she landed in the role, she says” I had shot for an ad in Chennai that was telecasted in the theatres during the interval. The director (Krish) and the casting agent had seen the ad and asked me to come down to Chennai for an audition. It was for the role of a rockstar”..
After the auditions, they thought that she looked too innocent and naïve to play a rock musician and was rejected.. Apparently, a few months later, she got a call from Krish again and he had asked her if she could fly down immediately to Chennai for an audition. After the test, Krish confirmed that she was in and will be a part of this team..
She play Pooja, a fresh-out-ofcollege girl, who’s head over heels in love with the hero.the actress who considers herself lucky to be a part of this project is completely looking forward for the film’s release..
The actress is also simultaneously making her debut in Tollywood as she has signed two projects there, opposite Tarun and Srikanth..

Rana shoot to get kick started
Rana is the next film of our Super star in which he will be paired with Deepika Padukone.
As per the sources, the legend will be portraying three roles in the film which will have Eros International and Ocher Studios Private Limited, co-producing the film and will be directed by KS Ravikumar.
It is learnt that Director KS Ravikumar has planned to issue identity cards for the cast & crew of this magnum opus..
Sources say,A splendid set has been erected on the eight floor of AVM Studios by Ocher Studios, where a few scenes and a song will be canned on the lead pair.. The entry will be restricted only to the members of the team, as the film will have lot of surprise elements, only those with identity cards will be allowed to enter..

Vega anticipation increases
Vega, is just two film old.. From a girl on the run in Saroja to playing a school teacher in Pasanga she has shown a diverse performance which has been widely appreciated by all, and now she is all set to impress the audience with her ‘rock’ing performance in the multi-starrer, Vaanam.
She says” Apart from Kollywood, I’ve also acted in a couple of Telugu and Hindi films. And it was my Telugu film Housefull that made Krish notice me. In the film, I play a proud girl with loads of attitude”..
The actress play Lasya, a rock musician in the film.. The actress is happy that she had the opportunity to work with some of the experienced actors in this film..
Interestingly, she used to get tips from Bharath on how to hold the instruments as he’s played a musician earlier. The team also had a seasoned musician coming on the sets to help them in learning and holding the instruments..

'சந்திரமுகி' படத்தில் நடிக்க ரஜினியிடம் கேட்ட போது 'நான் நடிப்பது இருக்கட்டும். முதலில் வடிவேலுவிடம் கால்ஷீட் இருக்கா என்று கேளுங்க' என்றார்.
அப்படத்தில் 'மாப்பு... வெச்சுட்டாருய்யா ஆப்பு!' என்ற வசனம் மிகவும் பேசப்பட்டது.
அதன்பின்பு நடித்த குசேலன் படத்திலும் வடிவேலும் இருக்கும் படி பார்த்து கொண்டார்.
எந்திரன் படத்தில் வடிவேலு நடிக்கவில்லை. ஆனால் வடிவேலுவை எங்கு பார்த்தாலும் சரி, பேசினாலும் சரி அன்போடு பேசி நலம் விசாரித்து வந்தார் ரஜினி.

Velayudham on May 14
Velayudham audio rights have been recently acquired by the Sony Music. They are planning to release the audio of the film in a grand manner, claims a source. The makers of the film have decided to invite many top celebrities of the Tamil film industry to the function, adds a source.
Vijay Anthony has scored the music for Velayudham. The movie has five songs and Na Muthukumar and other lyricist have penned the lyrics. The movie is expected to hit the screens in June.

Ajith’s next film in the pipeline is said to be Billa 2 has been postponed once again.
Sources in Kollywood say that Ileana is being considered to play the female lead in this film. Though there were a lot of attempts in the past to bring Ileana to the Tamil film industry, the opportunity eluded her and she finally agreed to star opposite Vijay in Nanban, which is directed by Vijay.
There is a strong rumor doing rounds that Ileana may join the Jayam Raja-Ajith camp once she complete Nanban.
Kamal Haasan had said that the South Indian film industries should unite so that the films made here gets a recognition world over.
The rued that only Bollywood films are considered to be films made in India despite several films industries prevailing here. The Ulaga Nayagan said that it is indeed sad to note that south Indian films do not get the recognition it deserves in the world market.
To do away with this situation, the star appealed to all the south Indian films industries to work together so that it can reach the world audience easily due to this strength. He said that one step towards this unification process is dubbing and remaking films.
ராணா'வுக்காக ரஜினி சிறப்பு வழிபாடு!
ரூ 100 கோடி பட்ஜெட்டில், மிக பிரம்மாண்டமாக 'ராணா' படப்பிடிப்பு துவங்கும் நிலையில் ரஜினி காளிகாம்பாள் கோவிலுக்கு திடீரென வந்தார். அங்கு பயபக்தியுடன் சாமி கும்பிட்டார். காளிகாம்பாளுக்கு சிறப்பு அர்ச்சனைகளும் செய்தார். பின்னர் கோவிலை சுற்றி வந்து வணங்கி விட்டு அங்கிருந்து புறப்பட்டுச் சென்றார். எந்தக் காரியத்தைத் தொடங்கும்போதும் தனது குருக்கள் மற்றும் தெய்வத்தை வழிபட்டுவிட்டே ஆரம்பிப்பது ரஜினியின் வழக்கம். இதனை பல ஆண்டுகளாக கடைப்பிடித்து வருகிறார். அடுத்தவாரம் துவங்கும் 'ராணா' படப்பிடிப்பு வெற்றிகரமாக நடக்க வேண்டி இந்தப் பிரார்த்தனை நடந்தது, என ரஜினிக்கு நெருக்கமானவர்கள் கூறினர். மலையே மணலாகும்போது... மனுஷனுக்கு செண்டிமெண்ட் தானே துணை!

This film is a bi lingual shot in tamil and telugu which has 2 beautiful ladies along with siddarth. The music of this film is by Sharreth which has done the talking since the audio was released recently.
Sharreth also has the tickle the bones of one and all which was prudent at the audio release of the film. He reveled working with director Jayendra was both a delight and pressure.
Delight is working with him pressure is that it would be very difficult to convince him. He had composed close to 150 tunes and to get the approval of one tune would be a real gift from god confirms this music director who is also eagerly waiting for the release of this film.
மீண்டும் பாடகரானார் தனுஷ்
இதுகுறித்து தனது வலைதளத்தில் தனுஷ் கூறியிருப்பதாவது, இரண்டாம் உலகம் படத்தில் நான் இரண்டு பாடல்கள் பாடியிருக்கிறேன் என்று எழுதியுள்ளார். ஏற்கனவே தனுஷ் "ஆயிரத்தில் ஒருவன்" படத்தில் "உன் மேல ஆச தான்..." என்ற பாடலை பாடியிருந்தார். இப்பாட்டு நல்ல வரவேற்பை பெற்றது. இப்போது இந்த படத்திலும் தனுஷ் இரண்டு பாடல்கள் பாடியிருக்கிறார். இந்தபாடல்களும் நன்றாக வரும் என்பது அவரது ரசிகர்களின் நம்பிக்கை.

இயக்குனர் கெளதம் வாசுதேவ் மேனன் 'வெப்பம்' படத்தை தயாரித்துள்ளார். இதில் நானி, நித்யா மேனன், கார்த்திக் குமார் மற்றும் பலர் நடித்துள்ளனர்.

வண்ண ஒளிகளை அளவாக பயன்படுத்தியுள்ளார்கள். வெப்பம் படத்தின் திரைக்கதை, அதை நகர்த்திய விதம் என எல்லாவற்றிலும் இயக்குனர் அஞ்சனா வித்தியாசத்தை காட்டியிருக்கிறார்.

The film was screened recently at the Norway Tamil Film Festival, and received good response. Interestingly, the audience loved the film so much that they asked for a repeat screening of the film..
The director had tweeted” “Norway Tamil Film Festival started with the screening of Aadukalam. It was received well by the audience of Oslo! The film was screened second time at the festival as a request from audiences, who had missed the first show.”

நார்வே சர்வதேச தமிழ்த் திரைப்பட விழா கடந்த 20ம்தேதி ஆஸ்லோவில் தொடங்கி 25ம்தேதி வரை நடந்தது. வசீகரன் சிவலிங்கம் என்ற நார்வே தமிழரின் விஎன் மியூசிக் ட்ரீம்ஸ் நிறுவனத்தின் அயராத முயற்சியால் தொடர்ந்து இரண்டாவது ஆண்டாக இந்த திரைப்பட விழா ஆஸ்லோவில் நடந்தது. தமிழ் திரைப்படங்களுக்கு மட்டுமே சர்வதேச அளவில் நடக்கும் ஒரே திரைப்பட விழா இதுதான். இந்த விழாவில் தமிழின் முன்னணி இயக்குநர்கள் மற்றும் கலைஞர்கள் பங்கேற்றனர்.
